…And a few Rascals
These are the ingredients behind Ford’s recent viral experiential ad. It’s also Dan Rascal’s first rodeo with Chrome Productions and 11 Television Canada. The former “a London based production company producing ground-breaking, inspiring and award-winning commercials with specialisms in sports, luxury, travel and lifestyle.”
“This collaboration comes in anticipation for Ottawa’s new Film & Television Studio”, says Craig Conoley, President of Dan Rascal Inc. “Dan Rascal Inc. is looking to develop new and collaborative partnerships with global agencies looking to execute on creative in the nation’s capital; a place with some extremely experienced companies looking towards the future with a new slate of digital agencies on the rise behind them.”
Currently located 5 minutes from the site for the new soundstages, Dan Rascal Inc. has plans to leverage the new studio and its resources to bring bigger brands and projects to the city. This is also true of Ottawa’s other agencies involved in the creation of video content.
Bruce Harvey, “Ottawa’s film commissioner says things are moving quickly in the effort to turn a quiet piece of the Greenbelt into a sound stage for big TV and film productions. Things can move along pretty quickly when the interest is there from the city and the players that are involved are all serious about what they’re trying to do”
For D.R. Inc., the arrival of the new soundstage represents an opportunity to elevate the kind of work and the type of budgets that put us shoulder to shoulder with those doing the best work in the world. Part of getting serious for D.R. has been the hiring of Keren Jackman, a producing and directing guru who has recently moved from Toronto to take advantage of the new energy and resources Ottawa is offering up.
