Well it’s that day!

Today Marty McFly and Doctor Emmete Brown go ‘Back to The Future’, a future filled with amazing technological advances like virtual reality headsets, smart watches, fingerprint id, facetime, hoverboards and….uhhhh…fax machines?

Maybe even more amazing is that in 1985, writers Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale were pretty much bang on ! Well done you techno prophets! Well done.

Saying we’re inspired by the film is an understatement, and as a team of well respected film nerds who love scouring for gear, it’s only appropriate that we managed to snatch up a piece of the film’s memorabilia.

Doc Brown’s JVC GR-C1 in Back to the Future

For fellow gearheads, the JVC GR-C1 was a camcorder released in March 1984 and was noted as the first all-in-one VHS camcorder. Nom de Zeus!

How Dan Rascal came to possess the camera is unknown to the partners. Maybe someone from the past with a time machine made sure it would eventually land on his doorstep and then ours, at least that’s what our inner child wants to believe.
